I can't hear the course, the sound stopped, no audio

All of our courses have sound. If you can't hear any sound the issue is on your end. Most of the time there is an issue with your computer that you are unaware of.

A common issue is the sound stopped working, or used to work and now it doesn't.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve your sound problem:

  1. Rebooting the computer "always" solves the problem of "the sound was working but stopped" (unless you muted the sound, don't have speakers, or actually have a hardware problem). If you don't want to reboot first, try 2 and 3.
  2. Try relaunching the player, this is the quickest option to try (but doesn't always work).
    • Go to Incomplete Courses.
    • Click Stream Video (Unless you downloaded the course, in which case double click on the downloaded course file).
    • When the player loads, click Play.
  3. Try closing your browser and logging back into our site again. This is the second quickest solution.
  4.  Please reboot your computer. A computer reboot normally fixes this issue. Please try this if step 2 or 3 didn't work. After the reboot, log back into the site and try your video again.
  5. Try a different browser. The most popular browsers are Chrome and Firefox. If you don't have one of these installed you can install Chrome by going here: https://www.google.com/chrome/ or Firefox by going here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/. After you install the new browser please reboot your computer.
  6. If you already use Chrome or Firefox, make sure you have the latest version.
    • Chrome - Click "Customize and Control Google Chrome" (three vertical dots upper right corner of browser). Next click "Help" >> "About Google Chrome". This will automatically check for an update. You may need to restart Chrome after the update is complete.
    • Firefox - Click "Open Menu" (three horizontal lines upper right corner of browser). Next click "Open Help Menu" (blue Question Mark ?) >> "About Firefox". This will automatically check for an update. You may need to restart Firefox after the update is complete.
  7. Do you have speakers and are they attached?
  8. Are your speakers powered on if they require power?
  9. Is the sound turned up? Check both the volume level on your computer and if your speakers have a volume control check it too.
  10. Is the volume turned up on the player?
  11. Make sure you don't have your volume muted. Many browsers also allow you to mute your browsing tab. Make sure your tab isn't muted.
  12. This is advanced, but make sure you don't have a driver issue. You can delete and reinstall your audio drive if you know how. Contact your computer manufacturer if you need help with this.
  13. Check to see if you can hear other sounds, if you can't hear anything else, you can't hear our courses.

Please click the view or download link below to see where you can find your volume controls.
